About The Scoville Scale
Hello, fellow dirtbags*!
The Scoville Report was born from a desperate text message in a group chat among friends:
Why was it so hard to find accurate spice ratings for book loving dirtbags like us? Why couldn’t we simply feel empowered to look forward to and enjoy the spicy chapters of our books, instead of skulking around on the internet?
We searched, we searched again - and when we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we decided to create it for ourselves. And - here we are. And here you are! We’re genuinely happy you found us.
Our name, The Scoville Report, is inspired by the Scoville scale, which measures the spiciness (or "heat") of chili peppers and other substances. Our goal is not only to provide a clear spice rating system, in the age-old form of 🌶️chili peppers, but a crowd-sourced list of our favorite spicy books, and the chapters where you can find the spice. Because in times like these, we need a little heat to look forward to!
